First Bavarian Foot Artillery Regiment, Second Battalion Saint Barbara Print
![]() |
Above: An original lithography print for the 1st Bavarian Foot Artillery Regiment, 2nd Battalion depicting Saint Barbara, the Patron Saint of the Artillery. She is leaning against a German 15cm s.F.H. 1902 howitzer of the same type that is in the Lovett Artillery Collection. Saint Barbara is typically depicted with a cannon or howitzer representing the lightening which caused the sudden death of her executer/father. She is wearing a German steel helmet from the WW1 era. The crown sitting above her helmet depicts a castle keep, where she was imprisoned by her father/executioner.
