German Officer's Service Saddle and Breast Plate

Above: German Officer's Service saddle introduced in 1910. As an officer saddle, this piece has no issue markings or acceptance stamps. This is because an officer's personal equipment is privately purchased. This saddle is missing its girth, and stirrups. The girth was nearly identical to the enlisted issue type but the stirrups were much finer in quality
