The 15cm V.H. 1899 was an experimental howitzer.  It was between the 15cm s.F.H. 1893 and 15cm s.F.H. 1902 in development.  Somewhat surprisingly, this photograph appears to show the V.H. 99 in wartime period use at the Front.
